An extra Maya

This card is not for a challenge or anything, simply for fun. For this card, I simply cut an A4 piece of acrd and folded it then trimmed the front to create a shorter piece. Layered with gold peel offs and Chocolate Chip DSP. Maya (available from La La Land Crafts) stamped onto linen card and coloured with Promarkers. I really like Maya coloured in brown - always tend to go for Black and White so this is a real change for me.

Pepper in Green

Thought it was about time I'd show you a project using Pepper from the La La Land animals range. He is simple stamped and coloured and then layered up using various sizes of rectangles. There's even a little bit of paper piercing too.

La-La Weekly Wednesday Challenge 2 - Stitching

Welcome to the second week of the La La Land Weekly Wednesday Challenge! This weeks theme is
STITCHING
You can use real or faux stitching on your card. I've used a paper quilting effect on my card using Old Olive papers to create the patchwork. I've then used a fineliner pen to add all the stitching. To create the topper, I've used my nestabilities to cut out Maya's head - I really like her coloured in browns (Sandstone and Cocoa Promarkers) and will have a card with her in these colours soon which shows the whole of her and not just her head.

So come along and join in the challenge over at La La Land and let us see what you come up with - more details on how to get involved over at the blog.

You may also have noticed that I've got a watermark on my pics now - this is all down to a friend of mine, Elaine, who made it for me. I sent her a little sketch with what I was thinking and she came up with this for me. THANKS ELAINE

La-La Weekly Wednesday Challenge 1 - Flower Power

Well, last Wednesday was the first of the 'La La Weekly Wednesday Challenge'. My stamps arrived after this date (but we sort of knew that would be the case for the first week) and so it's now I'm managing to get it done - next weeks is already made so I have caught up with the rest of the design team. The theme for the first Challenge is:
FLOWER POWER

I have used my Happy Maya stamp and used some digi papers to create the background and the decoupaged flowers. Those of you who follow my blog know that I don't usually go flowery so this card was a real challenge but I'm pleased with the result.

Window Box Card

Don't actually know what the official name for a card like this is but there is a window and it's a box shap, hence 'Window Box Card' . The idea for this card came from one of my Craft Club Members - Cheers Heidi. She showed us a card she'd made during the week which was awesome. I went home and had a fiddle with the dimensions and came up with this. The image is from Cuddly Buddly's Cozy Days set which is one of my all time fave Christmassy Craft items. I've decoupaged the image. The great thing about this style is that it folds flat into an envelope by pushing the sides in.

Lace Work

Last week I was asked if could demo how to use some Lace Template at a Craft Club. I tried to come up with something a little different and used my Season of Joy Stamp set from Stampin' Up to create the central image and replicated it down the right hand side. I quite like how it turned out - quite a modern look. I also like the shape of the card and think I'll use it again. The real Red ink matched some Cardstock I already had which was handy.

Also, today is the GRAND OPENING of LA LA LAND CRAFTS! I can't wait for Maya to land this side of the pond! Have a look around at the other stamps available too.

And while you're over there, check out the Guest Designer Page too - still find it quite surreal to see myself there.

Promarker Storage

Had a go today at creating a printable template myself. I've tried to create a desk tidy so that I can hold my Promarkers. It's still under construction but I thought I'd show you my prototype version.

There are 5 compartments to it. It has a central container which is slightly taller than the other 4 and then 4 interlocking sections to create a large base.

I think I still need to play with it a bit and work on the dimensions etc. Maybe if I added some dividers to it then I'd be able to group the PMs into colour groups (nah, think that's too adventurous for me!). Anyway, enough waffling, what do you think?

__________________________________________________________

On a seperate issue, has anyone else been getting a lot of spam comments lately? I've had LOADS over the last few days and so have had to turn on word verification to combat it. I've never had this option on before because I wanted people to be able to comment without any hassle, however, the situation got too much. Hope this doesn't put people off commenting here.

La La Land Crafts Design Team Announced

Yesterday I posted some candy alert for you regarding a new stamp company called La La Land Crafts. Well, they have now announced their design team and there are some amazing projects to see from them. The Design Team are:

Well, apparently there were over 200 applicants for the DT and so 5 Guest Designers were also chosen, they are:

Did you spot it? That's right, I've been chosen as a Guest Designer for the next couple of months!!! WOOHOO!!! I'm just awaiting that first parcel right now and am soooooo EXCITED about this.
The release of these new stamps will be August 12th with the La La Land Crafts Store website going live August 12th at 11pm that night. That is US time, not sure when that is UK time as I'm not sure about the time difference yet!

Blog Candy Alert

Check out Irina's blog candy over on La La Land Craft. The candy is AMAZING. It's quite strange because La La Land is a new stamp company and the online shop hasn't opened yet, the stamps haven't been released, but still, I've already think I've found a new stamp to add to my wishlist. This cow looks so cute and that's all we've seen so far is this small sneak peek.

Stationary File

Finally got to the end of the project. I've been working on it a little at a time and that is why it took so long. I'm sure if I just sat down and focussed on it, it would have been finished a long time ago. I have used the 'Filed with Flair' template from Lauren Meader at Papertrey to create a mini magazine folder. I then filled it with stationary for a dog lover. I've used a range of the Elzybells dogs to decorate everything. I've also used the same colour cardstock as I did when I made the small notelet box the other day.

The contents have all been split using diveiders made with my Stampin Up punch to make the tabs. Once the contents have been used, the folder can still be useful to store other things.

Here I've spread all the contents out to show what was inside.

These are simple note cards (single sheet) for writing notes/to do lists etc.

These are a set of thank you cards with a pale green insert.

And finally, a bookmark and the envelopes. I've stamped the word 'woof' on the flap of each of the envelopes to tie it all in.

ATC Update

Here are my ATCs from this month's ATC SWAPPERS swap. The themes were 'Black and White' and 'A Sketch'. It really threw out some very different ATCs this month. Check out all the swaps over on the blog.

These were the ones I made for the swap. The first ones follow the sketch and used the Elzybells coffee set. And my Black and White ones had Penguins on them (I know I've cheated a bit by using a bit of colour for the scarf and hat but thought I'd probably be let off this one time - well, I hope I do!!!). The background was made using one of my Stampin Up wheels which turned out to be a lot of fun to use.

The next theme is WATER - which seems odd for August but seeing the weather right now, it could be quite apt!

And finally, these three are for a new swap called Addicted to ATCs and the theme was 'About me'. I've used the sheep to represent the Welsh part of me!!! Not stereotypical at all! Their next theme for August is Summer Treats

And I must confess that I didn't make any swaps for the 'Monthly ATC Swap' that Rebecca runs as I thought it was going to be run over two months! Oops, my mistake. I shall try my best to join in next time.
