Quilted Christmas

Isn't it great how you can change one thing of a design and it looks totally different. Loved the card I made following Sue's original design. Then when I tried it with a different colour, I liked the embossing. So I put them together to create this one. I wanted a card with less die cutting so went down to two poinsettia clusters. This also made the smaller sentiment fill the space.

Here's a closer look at the snowflake lattice embsooing folder, and yes, each cross has a pearl glued on. Time consuming but effective. I like the quilted effect it creates.

Exploding Box

Made this a while back and realised I hadn't shared it here!
Here's an exploding box I made using the Swirly Vine die by Sue Wilson.

Looks tricky but it isn't - just time consuming.

If you'd like the instructions for this, visit my Facebook Group, Showing Off The Sue Wilson Style and look in the Exploding Boxes Album.

Another Poinsettia

I have tried a variant of the CASE'd card I made from a Sue Wilson design.
This time I used nave, silver and white.

A different embossing folder this time. A creative expression one - Snowflake Lattice I think! I added a small pearl to the centre of each one. Time consuming but effective.

I added double sided adhesive sheet to each poinsettia and added Iced Snow glitter to give them some shine.

Christmas Twinkle

Here's a card I shared in my Facebook group a few days ago. It proved quite popular so I decided to see what else I could do with the die. Here's the result:

This card only used one die set - the Twinkle Star frame from Sue Wilson. I wanted to turn the frame into a shaker element but half way through I decided to cut an aperture in the card base too and make it see through!

This way the sentiment can be seen through the front but is actually on the inside of the card!

MFT's Camp Create

This is my first time taking part in Camp Create with MFT. I have been away so missed all the posts as they came up so binge watched the vids!

Here is my entry for the Monochromatic Magic challenge.

I stamped the images and used white embossing powder over the top. Then I rubbed distress ink over the top. I used a waterbrush to bleach out the colour in areas to get the paler look on the animals and tree. Then I outlined the images with a grey promarker and added a couple of jewels to the sentiment.

So pleased to have earned my first MFT Camp Create badge :)

MFT Sketch Challenge 345

Here is my entry for the latest MFT Sketch Challenge.

I used the Recipe for Happiness set on this one. I used the utensils to create the background to the circle and the salt n pepper pot for the main backing. I like how they are bunched up at the bottom and spread out nearer the top. I bent the acrylic sentiment from the set to suit the curve of the circle. I coloured the chef using my Promarkers.

Entering this into the I Love Promarkers Challenge - One For The Boys

Sue Wilson Colour Challenge

Here is an entry I made for the Showing Off The Sue Wilson Style facebook group. This month the challenge is to use only yellow, brown and white to create your Sue Wilson masterpiece! I used the Atlantic Ocean collection for this card.

The sentiment is from Stamping All Day and is Welsh for Happy Birthday.

Ben's Card

Most of my dies are bought from SET Craft. Ben and his team are great!
Ben recently had a milestone birthday and I made this card. I used the centre of the Atlantic Ocean dies to create the patchwork effect. I placed them on a piece of sticky sheet and covered it with gilding flakes. Then simply cut a frame using double pierced squares.

MFT Sketch Challenge 344

I know, a second post today. I had to have a go at the MFT Challenge this week. I upended the sketch. I used the hill dies to resemble the two lines at the bottom. I wanted the mountains to be more of a V shape like the sketch but failed to stuck to the way they were!

I used my new dragon stamps and dies as well as the mini cloud stencil for the base card. The centre looked a bit stark so I added some pine trees from the Warm & Fuzzy stamps.

This was my first attempt at a scenic card and using dies to build up a landscape. I enjoyed it but need a lot more practice to be anywhere near as good as some of the MFT fans. You can't really tell that there's 3D foam lifting the hills trees and dragons to add dimension.

Christmas in August

Seein as Sue Wilson has started her Christmas Double Days over on her Particraft blog, I thought I'd share one I made using one of her cards as inspiration. I used the Poinsettia Cluster three times across the diagonal. I cut the poinsettia out in black too to create a shadow.

Buckle Cards

Last week I met up with my craft group to try out another Sue Wilson technique - her infamous BUCKLE cards! Totally different look to what I usually do but good to test yourself. The green above was my 'try it out' card. We used white/cream card and colour cloud - no coloured card in sight!

I had another go this time using the lilac colour cloud.

Having already made 2 of these, I decided to rotate the design on the day. I used yellow colour cloud this time (thanks Judith!)

I've been spotted!

Not only am I pleased with my first shaker panel but also that I have been spotted by My Favorite Things and featured in their 'I'm Spotted' post today!

I stamped the tent repeatedly to create a background paper. The brown panel was a bit stark so if you look closely, you'll see that I have used the small pine tree to stamp repeatedly onto this with brown ink.
