Mojo Monday Week 80

Woohoo - a reason to look forward to Mondays. Here's my attempt at this week's Mojo Monday sketch. Have used the same image and colour scheme as last week but have swapped the blue for red.

You'll have to excuse the smudged thumb mark in the top left corner - didn't realise I had ink on my fingers when I picked it up!!! Ooops

A matching box

No guesses which is my favourite image right now! These stacked animals are so cool. I'm still playing with the colour combo for the hen though. Made a box to match the card I made for last weeks Mojo Monday as I loved the colour combo.

I bought this 'Flutter Box' template from The Digichick Boutique. Love the shape but still trying to work out a tidier way of closing it up. Any suggestions?

Mojo Monday Week 79

Can't quite believe I'm making a second post of the day - I know - 5 updates in 4 days - unbelievable. Was doing a bit of blog hopping and ended up on Mojo Monday. I've never participated in their challenge before but as soon as I saw this layout, I thought of the stacked animals from Elzybells Little Birdie Told Me clear set. It is one of my favourite images and thought this layout would suit it well.

The picture makes it look paler than it really is but I really like how it turned out. I used the Fiskars Threading Punch and some plain blue cardstock ran through the cuttlebug swiss dots folder. The sentiment is also from Elzybells (clear wording set).

A Quick Excuse

Can you believe it - another update from me! I don't know what's happening on the blogging front but I seem to be on a roll - 4 UPDATES IN 4 DAYS!!! That's one a day lol, not like me at all. So if you haven't been on my blog for a while (probably because you know how bad I am at updating) then make sure you scroll down for more new stuff. And yes, this is another Elzybells card!!! Well you can never have enough of a good thing.

I ordered some new nesties - 4 sets. Unfortunetly, only one set has arrived but had to have a go. Nothing much to it - it was more of an excuse to use them lol!!! Simply cut out a piece of linen card, stamped, coloured and chalked the edges. Chalked the edge of the card blank to match. No sentiment yet - will add a peel off when I know what it's for.

ATC Swappers - Patriotism

Over on ATC Swappers, the March theme is 'Patrotism'. So I started off thinking of all things Welsh and was going with daffodils. I had an ATC layout all sorted but decided I didn't like it and so changed my mind. The end result was a bit of a joke as I went for SHEEP!!! Both the sheep image and the sentiment are from Elzybells. I've gone for some Brown and Blue backings and inked a bit of brown on the white cardstock too. Wales is pretty 'unforgettable' to me and so the wording fits in great.
If you'd like to join in with the swap then hop on over to the blog and check out the details. The group who participate in the swap are really supportive and keen and they produce some marvellous work.

Horizontal Hold

Here's my attempt at a horizontal ATC for the 'Horizontal Hold' Challenge over on Tilda and Friends. It's been ages since I participated in their challenge and found this one quite a challenge as all my Magnolia stamps are too big to fit on horizontally. Don't know how this one came about in the end. The sentiment stamp actually says 'Wishing you joy' but I only inked the word wishing as I thought it matched the flying hearts well.

Elzybells Challenge 16 - Polka Dots

It has been so long since I completed a challenge but I really enjoyed the latest one over on the Elzybells Blog. Jeanne has set a Polka Dot theme. I immediately started thinking female cards but then came across this backing paper that I downloaded a long time ago from Shabby Princess and so went for a male 'Good Luck' card. The wording is from the Elzybells clear set which has so many words that you can use to create your own sentiments but this is the first time I've used them.

After sticking down all the pieces, I found some blue card which matched the backing paper nicely but it was too late to add an extra mount. Never mind, I'm pleased with the result anyway.

An Elzybells Project with a difference

I feel a bit of a cheat with this post as I'm not the one who made the projects. This half-term at school with the infants, our Science theme is 'Sound'. As part of the work, we have been making instruments - guitars and shakers so far. Seeing as Spring is supposed to be here, we made the instruments with this theme. So, here are the Elzybells Sheep Guitars and Shakers. I'm not sure that Elizabeth ever imagined that her stamps would be used in this way when she was designing them!!!

I'm back!!!

Just popping in to say hi. Yes I'm back from my hols in Kalymnos, Greece. The weather was bad at the beginning and the end but we had a few nice days in the middle - no tan though. Had some great climbs and took a few spills. My hands have taken a battering but they should heal for me to do some crafting soon. Here are a few pics of the trip.

I'm just about to sort out the Feb ATC swaps and have posted pics on the blog so go check them out.
