Red, White and Blue

This week, as we are approaching 4th of July for our Stateside friends, the challenge we are setting you at CATCH THE BUG, the Bugaboo challenge blog is:
RED, WHITE and BLUE with Ribbon

Now you may spot a faux paux on my card - yep, that's right I forgot the ribbon part!!! I hope I can be forgiven as I didn't have time to go back and add some. Sorry.

I used Clyde the Dragon as my image and coloured him in a patriotic red seeing as the Red Dragon is the symbol of Wales.

Of course, with it being a Bugaboo Digi Images blog, we'd love for you to use one but it's not essential. If you are new to digis or want to try before you buy or simply looking to expand your Bugaboo collection, remember that there is a freebie available every Friday. Head on over to the shop now to pick up this week's one. And make sure you visit the challenge blog at CATCH THE BUG for all the details and more inspiration from the Design Team.

Knobbly Knees?

No, we're not heading to a holiday camp for a knobbly knees competition, Knobbly Knees are the new release at BUGABOO!

Isn't he cute! Now with it being a Friday, there's one of the set up for grabs as our FRIDAY FREEBIE, however it isn't this one, it's a female version of this. So what are you waiting for? Go to the SHOP now and head to the freebies section.

Now, it's day 7 of my Centre Stepper Card showcase! As you can tell, I got quite obsessed with creating these card blanks and it really hepled my mojo. Have you seen all 7? If not, just head back through my last posts to see each one. The red panels have some subtle polks dots stamped on them in Red Brick distress ink. It doesn't show up well in the pics so zoom in for a better look.

Oldie But Goodie

Are you getting bored of these centre stepper cards yet???
This time, it's for Bugaboo's Oldie But Goodie Thursday and I used Mermaid Ava.

Who said Blue and Green should never be seen??? Love these bright colours together. The panels were embossed in my Cuttlebug Folder and then inked with some distress ink to highlight the bubbles.

Here's a side view to show the shape of the card.

Reverse of Yesterdays

Yesterday I shared a card that I originally intended on using an Old Olive card base for but changed my mind (when I accidentally stuck my designer paper on the wrong one). So instead of letting the card go to waste, I created this one:

I used Gus from Bugaboo Stamps for a masculine card. Just goes to show that some colours and papers can be used for men and women as yesterdays was using JJ.

If I was to use that paper again, I'd probably ink the edges of the designer paper in the same distress ink as the image to take away the harsh lines.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
All Things Unity ~ Masculine
Dream Valley ~ Father's Day
Just Some Lines ~ Spots and Dots
Secret Crafter ~ Household Object (Clock)
Little Claire's ~ Cards for Men
Bloggers Challenge ~ It's Manly Baby!
Glitter Geeks ~ Men/Fathers Day
Inspire Me Fridays ~ Anything Goes
Mami Doodles ~ For a Boy/Man
Poodle Parlour ~ Anything Goes
Wags n Whiskers ~ Masculine
Craft Us Crazy ~ Masculine
Crafty Sentimets ~ Fathers Day

Stockings on Display

Just check out JJ's glam stocking. You should know that she wouldn't make do with your average stocking! I love this image so you may see more of her... If you like it as much as me, you can find it in the Bugaboo shop HERE.

As you can see, it's the same centre fold card that I shared yesterday. Have gotten a bit carried away and will be sharing one every day this week!

I planned on using Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive from Stampin Up as they are perfect for Christmas. However, the original plan was for an OO card base. I then changed my mind and cut one out of the CC instead. Then I cut out the DSP panels and went ahead and stuck them on the wrong card base! So tomorrow, expect to see a mirror image version of the colours seen here (just need to finish it off sometime today). The sentiment is stamped in CC using a Papertrey Ink Stamp set.

Am entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Catz ~ Fancy Fold
Inspire Me Fridays ~ Anything Goes
Challenge Up Your Life ~ Circles (on backing paper)
Just Some Lines ~ Spotty Dotty
Crafty Ann ~ Christmas in June
Poodle Parlour ~ Anything Goes

For the Boys!

Well, seeing as Father's Day is fast approaching, what better theme for this week's Bugaboo challenge at Catch The Bug than:
IT'S A MAN'S WORLD
I have seen these shapes around for a while and so have had a go. Again, I felt the need to play with the measurements to make them easier! Have stuck to 1 inch and half inch increments to make this card blank:

The image is from the A KIDS VIEW SUPERHERO range. I love this character and have used him quite a bit! The green panels were stamped with a little star using distress ink. The 'My Hero' sentiment was also using a PTI ink set (the Star Prints one) and is actually 2 different stamps. The border on the bottom was punched using a Martha Stewart border punch.

New Concept

Bugaboo introduces a new concept to their range today. As if having the digital images wasn't enough, now you can get CARD KITS!!! They come with black and white digital images, borders, coloured borders and images, backing papers, sentiments...

Today sees a Chameleon and a Teddy Graduation kit released. Head on over to the SHOP to see more info.

I chose to work with the Chameleon set as in work, I often take children to a reptile centre which breeds them. I love them! The females are quite aggresive!!! Do you know why they change colour? No it's not for camoflage. They're natural green is their camouflage. The reason they change colour is in fact to express their mood! The colour change is so quick. I've witnessed it a few times now and it always suprises me.

Anyhow, back to the card. I wanted to show the versatility of the kits by showing that you can combine them with other crafty style. Instead of using a backing paper from the kit, I stamped the lower portion with Real Red and Pacific Point ink from SU by using a PTI Stamp set.

Get girly...

with PEARLS & LACE?
As that is the theme for this week at Catch The Bug. Now I'm sooooo not used to making girly cards. I'm not into lace and pearls at all so this was indeed a challenge for me. I didn't have any lace so had to think outside the box and used a Martha Stewart punch to create a faux lace border.

The image is one of the recently released A Kid's View Babies.

This card is also entered into the following challenges:
Paper Cutz - Pink, Black and White
Joyful Stamper - Anything Goes
Guylou - Monochromatic (Pink)
Stamp Something - Something Punched (lace effect border)
Art Impressions - Monochromatic

I entered a card at Some Odd Girl last week and I WON!!! I got three awesome digital images as a prize and must say I love the characters. I haven't had time to make a card but have coloured in this Super Tobie image and wanted to share it with you. I love how he is hiding his Superhero Costume under what looks like his school uniform.
