Nestie Windows

Nothing major to report, just having a play with creating apertures with embossed edges with the nesties. Haven't tried this before so decided to have a go. Tried it with the embossing raised but I think they look better when they are debossed. Elzy stamps add the finishing touches.

Even more..

...boxes! After seeing the ones I'd made, my little cousins (Ellie and Thomas) wanted to make some. Thomas wanted one to hold sweets (and he had to have footballs) and Ellie is using her flower one as a money box.

Mine were made using some of my new Christmas Elzybells stamps. I saw these in the catalogue nearly 2 years ago and have finally got my hands on them. The Eskimos and the Penguins make for a really different Christmassy look.

Some proof...

that I made it up Ben Nevis!!! Had a great time. Landed in Glasgow but only saw the airport. Headed up then stopping at Inveruglas, Loch Lomond and Glencoe. Stayed at a Guesthouse in Fort William which had an amazing view. Ben Nevis was tough but went OK. Had a change of route on the way back to the airport and followed the Argyll Coast.

And YES, it was cold at the top!

Woof!

No prizes for guessing my fave stamp at the moment!!! Simply chalked, bugged and watercoloured. His nose, the bee and the hill have then been coloured with clear Sakura glaze pen. I think that the brown chalking makes the image look quite different to when it is used with bright colours.

Another box

Here's another box made using the Sizzix Take Out die. This is what I originally wanted to do but didn't have the right colours. Stamped the paws and bones on the blue and two dogs on the white (all stamps from Elzybells). I coloured the bones with white Sakura Glaze. Dogs were then simply watercoloured.

Sizzix Take Out Box

Had a delivery yesterday of the Sizzix XL Take Out Box - bought it for use with the Cubs but obviously it needed a test run!!! I cut one piece out of black and one of yellow (because they were near!). At this point, I didn't actually know what I'd do with them and then remembered about the Elzybell dog with the BEE - perfect colours. So I stamped some paw prints onto the yellow and made a topper. Only trouble was how to attach it and still be able to open it!

Then (from nowhere) an idea hit me and so I used a brad so that the topper can swivel to the side and allow the lid to be opened!

Also had a go at using some textured silver metallic card stock and fixed it together using brads to make it look like a toolbox. Saw the idea on Create and Craft the other day!

Stencillo Stocking

I recently purchased the Stencillo Stocking Template - looks so simple but so effective. Started off simple with these three just to get used to the template (plus no real ideas lol)

Just used card stock and some old scrapbook paper for the first. On the second I experimented with Cuttlebugging the add on bits, a Cuddly Buddly Snowman just finishes it off. On the last, I thought I'd stray from traditional Stocking colours and go for brown and cream so that I could use the CB Cozy Dayz set again! This time I used a free swinging tag hanging from the Cuts and Emboss Sizzix Snowflake.

Been AWOL

Have been really busy lately and will be off again soon too. I'm heading off up to (hopefully!) walk Ben Nevis and so have been doing a bit of walking along our stunning Welsh Coastline.

A while ago, I received an award from Elizabeth over at Elzybells. I was shocked to recieve it from her as she must see so many blogs and card designs.

The Elzybells Christmas stamps have just been released and there are some great images to play with - go check them out!

Stampman August ATC Swap

Thought I'd show you my Stampman ATC swaps before I send them off. This months theme was 'Countryside'. A perfect excuse to get out the Elzybell Sheep sets. A simple stamp and watercolour ATC with glitter added to the bodies. The wording goes so well with this image.

Cute Card Thursday - Two of Us

Here's my attempt at this weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge. The theme was Just the Two of Us, in their words, 'We would like you to use two of something on your card, it could be 2 people, 2 animals or 1 of each, we love to see your own interpretation as always!'. I went for the Cuddly Budly Puppy Love set and used a Cuttlebug Embossing folder for the background.

A few more

Just a couple of quick cards I made recently using Cuddly Buddly images.

The first is a simple decoupaged image using the Bear in the Air set. The background was printed straight onto the card. I made a similar ATC to this a while back and wondered how it would look on a card.

The second is a simple digi printed card using the Magical Miss set - the set has no border so I used 4 corners to create one!

More Elzybells Dog Cards

Didn't take long to return to these stamps did it! Decided to play with the window idea and have made two more but with my circle nesties and square cards this time. All the bones (and the noses) have clear Sakura Glaze which doesn't show in the pic but looks effective in real life. These looked a bit plain until I added the ribbon although I am not the best at doing bows so stuck with a knot.
