Happy Birthday

Today is a very special day for one of the Bugaboo Family. It's Jodie's Birthday!!! Jodie is the artist and creator of all things Bugaboo. We have a special little blog hop going on just for her. Jodie (or anyone else who may be hopping), you should have arrived here from Min's blog if you are doing it properly!

So Jodie, I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to you for having me as part of your team. You are one of the most generous people I know and are always looking out for us and giving us support. I hope you have a wonderful day and make plenty of noise with that new keyboard of yours.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Now head on over to Sandye for your next part of the hop.

It's Challenge Time

So it was Black Friday yesterday in America. Lots of sales and shopping. So that is the theme for this weeks challenge with Bugaboo over at Catch The Bug, the challenge blog.

Anything to do with SHOPPING and use the colour BLACK

Here's Stella doing her Christmas present shopping list. Guess it was looking a bit long.

I typed the sentiment myself and punched it using SU punches and layered them.

And a closer look at Stella. She was coloured in promarkers.

So fancy joining in with the challenge this week? Just follow the theme and post a link to your project using Mr Linky over at Catch The Bug. There's the usual prizes up for grabs too.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments ~ Christmas
Freshly Brewed ~ Winter/Christmas
Crafty Creations ~ Christmas Is Coming
ABC Christmas ~ X is for Xmas

Do you like this snowman? If so, you can have him as he's today's Friday Freebie. Check him, and the rest of the set, out over at the shop.

I'm entering these into the following challenges:

OBG at Bugaboo

So it's an OBG (Oldie But Goodie) day at Bugaboo. Today I'm sharing a card with you using Fanny. I love the bauble stuck in her hat. There's always great touches like this with Bugaboo images.

Check here out in the shop as there's a whole year full worth of here - suitable for all occasions. I used her back in the summer on a sweetie holder for a trip abroad on a plane.

Now make sure you come back tomorrow to see a fantastic Freebie that Bugaboo will have on offer and see the release of the rest of the set. I haven't seen the rest yet and can't wait!

Treat Box Tutorial for Tutorial Wednesday

Wednesdays are Tutorial days over at Catch the Bug with Bugaboo. This week is my turn to share a tutorial. I'm going to show you how to make these very quick and easy treat holders. Here's a bunch I've shared before with you that I made for the Craft Class I go to for Halloween. They liked them a lot and I completed them all in a couple of hours - the time consuming part was the colouring in. If they'd been done ahead of time they'd have been very quick.

The one I'm showing you now is a different one I made for the Halloween period. I intend on making some Christmas ones though. So what to you need? How do you go about it? How long have some of you been waiting for this tutorial?

Firstly, you will need:
1 Piece of card for base, cut at 3" wide by 11" long
2 Panels 2.75" by 2.25"
1 Panel 2.75" by 1.75"
SU Oval Punch (I'm using the old style but the new one works exactly the same)
A scoreboard (not essential but makes this very quick)

Score the base card at 1", 2", 4", 4.5", 8" and 8.5"

Fold along each score line.

Punch a hole between the 1" and 2" folds. Line up the sides of the punch with the sides of the card to centralise it. If you don't have a punch, simply use a craft knife to cut out a hole.

Attach Double Sided Tape to the 1 inch wide piece.

Adhere as shown above.
The holder is now complete and ready to decorate.

I've stamped a pattern using my PTI stamps here before attaching to the base.
Attach one of the larger panels to the inside of the lid and the smaller on to the bottom panel of the holder.

Attach the other large panel to the front of the lid. It'll now be 3 pieces of carstock thick and so quite sturdy.
Attach your images/decorations/embellishments how you like. I've used this Bugaboo Mummy image on mine and a typed sentiment cut with the SU Window Punch.

Slide in your treat. I've used a Freddo bar in this one but I'm sure other items would fit too.

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial and maybe tempted to create your own. If you do, let me know so that I can come and see it.

Thank you

World Kindness Day Challenge

Did you know that today is 'World Kindness Day'?  Well, to mark the occasion, that is the theme for this week's challenge at Bugaboo. We want you to think kindness, friendship, gratitude, encouragement, congratulations...   There is also a sketch to follow which can be seen on CATCH THE BUG (where the rest of the details can be found too)

I needed to get a move on with my Christmas cards and chose one of these fairly new images from the A Kids View Winter range as I think it depicts friendship nicely. Nothing better than a snowball fight with friends in the snowy season.

The backing panels were made using my snowflake wheel from SU and Night of Navy ink to match the cardstock.

The inside carries on the friendship theme with this SU stamp and their snowflake flurries stamp. All again in Night of Navy

So fancy joining in the challenge? We have the usual 7, 4 and 2 digis of your choice to give away so head on over to CATCH THE BUG to see the rest of the inspiration from the DT and the rest of the details.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
BEE CRAFTY ~ Use a digi to create a Christmas card
SWEET STAMPIN ~ Snowflakes
2Sisters ~ Christmas

Daisy Doodles - Guest Designer

I was approached to see if I wanted to to be a Guest Designer for Daisy Doodles and of course I accepted the offer. This week is a transport theme called
LAND, SEA AND AIR
I've used the doodle bug cars to create this card.

The paper and card are from SU and the sentiment is from PTI. Make sure you check the Challenge Blog - DAISY DOODLES CREATIVE CHALLENGE to see the Design Teams work and the SHOP too.

Now onto other news. There's only a few more days to go with the Design Team Call for Bugaboo. We are looking for people to join our team in the new year. To be considered, all you need to do is make a post on your blog which showcase your work (one of which must use a Bugaboo Digi Image, there's always a Freebie floating around, but then again you could choose anything from the shop right now for half price thanks to the sale). Visit CATCH THE BUG for all the details

A Wintery Release

I'm a big fan of the Bugaboo AKV Range (A Kids' View). They are such simple images to colour but look so fun and funky. Today is the release of another addition to the range ~ AKV Winter. Great wintery characters for all those cold and frosty projects. Check them out HERE.

The background panel was created using Pacific Point Ink from SU and A PTI stamp set - Tin Types. I doubled up the background stamp by stamping the same image in all the gaps to create a fuller background.

I have an Oldie But Goodie to share with you today. Here's JJ and she's all wrapped up for Christmas. She is one of the characters from Bugaboo and you can find her in the Christmas Cheer section HERE.

The stars and sentiment are from PTI and the papers and punches used are SU.

New Release Tuesday - Poppi Penguin

Remember Poppi Penguin, the Bugaboo set from way back in the Summer? Well, she's BACK! And she's been Christmassyfied. Check out all the images in this new set over in the SHOP.

As you can see from the top view, the fold is a bit different. They tuck in behind the main panel to fit in the enevelope.

I'm entering this card into the Bee Crafty challenge which is a Christmas card with a digi image. It's also being entered into the City Crafters challenge which is to use a digi stamp.
