For the Boys!

Well, seeing as Father's Day is fast approaching, what better theme for this week's Bugaboo challenge at Catch The Bug than:
IT'S A MAN'S WORLD
I have seen these shapes around for a while and so have had a go. Again, I felt the need to play with the measurements to make them easier! Have stuck to 1 inch and half inch increments to make this card blank:

The image is from the A KIDS VIEW SUPERHERO range. I love this character and have used him quite a bit! The green panels were stamped with a little star using distress ink. The 'My Hero' sentiment was also using a PTI ink set (the Star Prints one) and is actually 2 different stamps. The border on the bottom was punched using a Martha Stewart border punch.

Of course, with it being a Bugaboo Digi Images blog, we'd love for you to use one but it's not essential. If you are new to digis or want to try before you buy or simply looking to expand your Bugaboo collection, remember that there is a freebie available every Friday. Head on over to the shop now to pick up this week's one. And make sure you visit the challenge blog at CATCH THE BUG for all the details and more inspiration from the Design Team.

New Concept

Bugaboo introduces a new concept to their range today. As if having the digital images wasn't enough, now you can get CARD KITS!!! They come with black and white digital images, borders, coloured borders and images, backing papers, sentiments...

Today sees a Chameleon and a Teddy Graduation kit released. Head on over to the SHOP to see more info.

I chose to work with the Chameleon set as in work, I often take children to a reptile centre which breeds them. I love them! The females are quite aggresive!!! Do you know why they change colour? No it's not for camoflage. They're natural green is their camouflage. The reason they change colour is in fact to express their mood! The colour change is so quick. I've witnessed it a few times now and it always suprises me.

Anyhow, back to the card. I wanted to show the versatility of the kits by showing that you can combine them with other crafty style. Instead of using a backing paper from the kit, I stamped the lower portion with Real Red and Pacific Point ink from SU by using a PTI Stamp set.

Get girly...

with PEARLS & LACE?
As that is the theme for this week at Catch The Bug. Now I'm sooooo not used to making girly cards. I'm not into lace and pearls at all so this was indeed a challenge for me. I didn't have any lace so had to think outside the box and used a Martha Stewart punch to create a faux lace border.

The image is one of the recently released A Kid's View Babies.

This card is also entered into the following challenges:

Some Odd Girl

I entered a card at Some Odd Girl last week and I WON!!! I got three awesome digital images as a prize and must say I love the characters. I haven't had time to make a card but have coloured in this Super Tobie image and wanted to share it with you. I love how he is hiding his Superhero Costume under what looks like his school uniform.

As is usual for the first Saturday of the month at Catch the Bug, it's an Anything Goes challenge. Of course, with it being a Bugaboo Digi Images blog, we'd love for you to use one but it's not essential. Head on over to the shop now to pick up this week's one.

For my card, I have used this great Summery Cocktail image. It reminds me of the ones we would have of an evening when I was rock climbing out in Kalymnos, Greece last year.

Special Sponsor

This week at Bugaboo, we have a special sponsor for our weekly challenge - FLOWERSOFT!!!
That's right, not only do we have our usual prizes up for grabs but also some tubs of it too. Make sure you head on over to CATCH THE BUG for all the details and to see what the other DT Members did with their Flowersoft as there's some great ideas - it's not just for flowers!!!

So what is out theme? BRIGHT COLOURS!
But it would be great if you could to crack out the flowersoft too if you have some. Would love to see more creative ideas on how to use it as I am not a flowers type of person.
So here's my effort:

I have used the image 'Sneaky One' from the Har Repotter range. I layered it with one of the accessories too - the cauldron. I used the Flowersoft as the potion in the cauldron.

The background was stamped and inked with a Papertrey Ink Stamp set. Are you getting fed up of these starry backgrounds yet? I'm determined to get my money's worth with this set. I used a star punch to make the star embellishment too. I think the swirl adds to the whole magical feel of the card.

Here's a close up of the flowersoft potion - see I told you it wasn't just for flowers...

This card is also entered into the following challenges:
Joyful Stamper - Anything Goes
Charisma Cardz - Boy Oh Boy
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Some Odd Girl - Make a Scene (layered the images to create more of a scene)
Crafting for All Seasons - Anything Goes
Digi Stamps 4 Joy - Men/Boys
Truly Scrumptious - Anything Goes

I have used SU papers which I've had for a while and some black and Pumpkin Pie cardstock for the base. The sentiment is a PTI one.

Here's a pic from a slightly different angle to show the 3D'ness of it (is that even a word???)

Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Ooh La La - Fancy Folds

A couple of cards

Just having a play with a few older images from Bugaboo today. The first is a gate fold card made using the AKV Men Fishing image. It's been a while since I had a go at a Cards For Men challenge and so wanted to make a special card for a Special Someone who loves fishing.

The paper is SU

And the sentiment is simply typed on the computer and mounted.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Sugar Creek Hollow - Masculine
2 Sisters - Use a Digi
Card Mad Fairy - For the Boys
Fairy Fun Fridays - More Than 1 Fold

When I saw that One Stop Craft Challenge had a Fairy Tale challenge, I knew it was time to get out the Bugaboo Alice in Wonderland images. I decided upon the Playing Card

As Crafty Catz are having an Anything Goes challenge, I'm entering it into that too.

Graduations and Celebrations

Graduations is our theme this week at Catch The Bug with Bugaboo. But if you don't have a graduation coming up, then you are also able to create any celebration card you want!

I used the Teacher teddy from the Occupation Bears set to create this. The background was created using distress inks and a PTI Stamp Set. I thought the Numbered Star matched the theme well.

So there are prizes up for grabs so come on over and join the fun. Head to Catch The Bug to see the rest of the proects from the DT and see all the details. I'm also entering this card into the Just Some Lines challenge as they have a Graduation theme running right now.

Here is my JJ card:

All in Old Olive. The striped paper is from SU and the dots were stamped in OO Ink with a PTI stamp Set.

Anything Goes with Bugaboo

So this week is 'Anything Goes' at Bugaboo. Visit our Challenge Blog - Catch The Bug for all the detials regarding prizes and to see the rest of the DT's work.

I know this is an old style of card which has been around for a while but this is my first attempt. I have to admit, I really liked making it and like the final result too. You may see many more of these types...

The image is from the A Kid's View Wedding set from Bugaboo.

I made this with a colleague in mind. A young couple getting married next Saturday. I wanted it to be sophisticated but also have a young, fun feel. I hope I managed to capture that.

Super New Release

It's a super relesase for 2 reasons. Firstly, it's the first new release at the NEW BUGABOO Shop and secondly, it's a Superhero release. You may have seen me use a similar image a few times as there was a freebie given out a long time ago with this superhero but now there's an entire set released. I'd always used red, white and blue but decided to try a different colour combo thhis time. So here he is in green:

The background was created by sponging distress ink over the card face and then stamping some PTI stars using the same ink. The sentiment is made up from 2 stamps from the same star set. I love this background and ended up making a few of them so expect to see it again...

Make sure you check out this post HERE to see how you could win Bugaboo images to celebrate the new shop launch.

Also entering it into a few challenges:
Bunny Zoe Crafts ~ One for the Boys
The Crazy Challenge ~ Cards for Men
Craft Your Passion ~ Anything Goes
Make It Monday ~ Anything Goes

Time to Celebrate

If you checked out my blog or any of the Bugaboo Design Team's ones yesterday, you will already know the big news - the SHOP HAS HAD A REVAMP!!!

Jodie has spend hours upon hours on it and I know it hasn't always been easy for her so I have made her this card to let her know it was all worth it. It's now time for her (and us) to celebrate all the hard work.

I have used Dottie as my image here and I think she looks ready to 'celebrate'. The card and paper is SU and in Tempting Turquoise (a fave of mine),

For all the details on the new shop and how to win LOTS of prizes, check out yesterdays post HERE.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges too:
The Corrosive Challenge ~ Turquoise and Pink
(not sure if it shows up her due to the camera flash, but she is drinking pink champagne)
Paper Sundaes ~ Favourite Hair Colour Combos
(well Dottie HAS to be blonde - I use Promarkers in Lemon, Tulip Yellow and Gold to create this blonde look)
Crafty Hos ~ Strong Women
(well I certainly wouldn't want to mess with Dottie)
