Catch The Bug Sketch Challenge

Here's my entry for the Bugaboo 'Catch the Bug' Sketch Challenge.

I just love the humour of these digi images. This is Gus' first outing. The sketch is fairly minimal so I kept the card very simple too. The sticky stars were a gift from one of the DT, Rae Anne, who sent them to me after I won the blog hop with her. It came with a brill CD too.

I Love Digi Challenge #3 ~ Easter

Doesn't time fly? It seems like yesterday I applied for the I LOVE DIGI design team and we are now on Challenge 3! This fortnight, our theme is:
Make an Easter Card or Gift or both!
As you can see, I went for both.
The card and pillow box are made using a Stampin Up 'So Saffron' colour scheme. On the card, I stamped the Canvas stamp (bought a long time ago but it is its first outing) using So Saffron Ink and then some matching paper. I couldn't find my So Saffron ribbon and so used some More Mustard. The image is from Bugaboo. By the time I got to the pillow box, I had found my So Saffron ribbon and use it to tie the box shut. I used the same supplies as the card to make it.
Why not join us over at the I LOVE DIGI blog to join in with the fun. Check out the other DT team members and hop all around the other amazing blogs. We have 4 new DT Members too - they've all been promoted from Guest Designers to full blown membership so please join me in welcoming:
Jane C, Dawn, Ali and Jennifer

Our sponsor for this month is WINK WINK INK.

Triptych ATC Swap

Here are the ATCs I made for the Feb swap at ATC Swappers. Our theme was Triptych. The cars are from a Pink Petticoat set I've had for ages.

I do like my Old Olive. Once again, I've used the papers and coloured the cars with Marsh Green Promarker to match.

Our next theme is a colour challenge, either 'Red and Black', 'Yellow and Black' or BOTH!!! Why not hop on over and maybe join in with the fun.

Sarah's New Tutorial

Have you seen Sarah's new tutorial over at CARD OASIS? No, then why not - it's AMAZING!!! She has released it in time for Mother's Day so it could be a perfect solution. Here's my attempt at it. It looks really complicated but the step by step instructions take you through it nicely.

I've used my nesties to make a 'catch' for the front flaps. I used some Elzybells sheep to decorate the panels. When it opens out, there are three compartments to store things.

The colour choice is a brown from Papermill and Old Olive card and papers from Stampin Up. I think you can really go to town with decorating these. I've kept it quite simple as I was so eager to put it together to see how it looks that I didn't decorate anything first. You never know, I may add more decoration to it.

I Love Digi Challenge #2 ~ Sketch & A Card For Mum

Here we go with challenge number 2. I Love Digi is a Challenge Blog dedicated to the use of Digi Images so dust of those printers and get creating.

Our theme this fortnight is two fold. We have a Sketch to follow and the added challenge of making it a card for Mum as Mother's Day is approaching.

My card has been made using elements from Pink Petticoat sets. I have used a number of their backing papers and printed them in turquoise which is a colour I don't use very often. The Frillie Millies are so much fun to colour. The sketch for this challenge has been produced by Dawny:

Our sponsor this fortnight is Lexi Doodles:

Remember to check out the rest of the DT Members to see their work too:

And our Guest Designer this fortnight is : Dawn

So go ahead, make a card/project, post it on your blog and link it using Mr Linky on the I LOVE DIGI blog.

Another Shaker Box

I needed to make a congratulations on a new job card. I bought today another couple of Bugaboo images (well being on a digi challenge blog design team means I HAVE to have some!) and one of the ones was a Crabby Cathy and it comes with the sentiment too - they are 2 seperate images so can be layered differently

Well, the card never materialised but this Sizzix Shaker Box did. It can count as a card can't it??? It's just that I had all the pieces left over from when I made some the other day. Anyway, this 'card' can be filled with e numbers, I mean Smarties!

Sorry about poor pics again. I think my newest camera only likes certain light conditions. Also thanks to all who gave me suggestions on sentiments for the other ones I made. I've printed some off and they are ready to be doodled and stuck when I have time. I've just purchased a bear and a dog from Bugaboo too so if you have any ideas for those then please let me know! Here's what is inside this one:

My Version of Sarah's Tote

Here's my effort at making a tote. I got the tutorial from Sarah at Card Oasis. I've only used the base to create this but the tutorial is more in depth and shows how to make pockets for each side.

It's thefirst outing for these stamps too. Got them in the January sales for half price and only now they are being used - well, they'd been waiting long enough!!!

I need your help!!!

I've been playing with my Sizzix Shaker Box die again and combining it with a recent purchase - a Digi Image from Bugaboo of a 'Butterfly Teddy'. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it!!! Eventhough it is advertised as a 'Butterfly' teddy, I adapted it for other bugs by changing the colour scheme - I think it works.

And now onto the part where I need your help. I want to put some sentiments onto the inside of the box and want some clever word trickery (at which I am no good!). The best I've been able to come up with so far is HAP'BEE' BIRTHDAY for the bee one! Can anyone help with this? They're not for any special occasion so anything goes.

The sentiment is to go on the reverse of the lid when the box is open (sorry for the blurry photo - I think all the bright yellow affected the focus!). The idea is to print it onto white card and doodle around to match the front.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

2 in 1

This card was made for the Elzybells Challenge and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. Both have the same theme which is to have more than 1 fold. I made a gatefold card using the Elzybells sheep. I love that the sentiment runs from front to inside and that the images complement each other with 3 sheep in each - they are in fact from two different Elzybells sets.

The colour scheme is Old Olive and Chocolate Chip from Stampin Up. The image is coloured with Promarkers - I found that Marsh Green complements Old Olive wonderfully.

It wouldn't be me without a bit of doodling!!!

Hope you like the card and also, did you know it is now even easier to play along with the Elzybells Challenges by posting directly on the EVERYTHING ELZYBELLS FORUM? The forum is also a great place to get inspiration and all the latest Elzybeels gossip and chat to other Elzy fans - go ahead, visit it and sign up!!!

Anyone for Anya - Flower Power

With a theme like FLOWER POWER, what else could I use except Hippy Anya!!! The card is for this weeks Anyone for Anya challenge. Last time I used this image, I made a really bright and bold card with loads of colours so this time I decided to keep it clean and simple. The paper is from SU but I've forgotten which set oops! I coloured Anya in to match.

Both the sentiments are from Elzybells. The white card is a linen textured card which looks great in real life but the camera hasn't picked up on it which is a shame.

I Love Digi Challenge #1 ~ Think Pink

WOOHOO!!!

It's the first of the 'I LOVE DIGI' Challenges! Our very first theme is

'Think Pink'

I tried to stay away from the traditional cutesy baby pink and instead went for a very bright rock chick look. The image is a digi download from the Greeting Farm Chibi Range. I think these are great for those early teen cards which can be difficult to make.

The sponsor for our very first challenge is THE STAMPING BOUTIQUE and their prize is 5 Digi Images of the winners choice.

Remember to check out the rest of the DT Members to see their work too:

And also our Guest Designer too:
Jane

So go ahead, make it, post it, link it with Mr Linky on the I LOVE DIGI site and join in the fun.

Elzybells Challenge 36 - Valentine Treat

Here's my make for the latest Elzybells Challenge which is to make a Valentine Treat. I used my Sizzix Carry All die and Kraft card for the base. All the images (the girl, hearts and sentiment) come from one set - Sweet Like Chocolate. I used my Chocolate brownie and Strawberry fool ink for the first time too. The buttons I've placed around the base are what I won last week. I chose Chocolate Chip buttons and they are great. There's a huge variety in the pack - hearts, flowers, large circular, small circular.

And here it is, overflowing with sweets. I chose some brown, red and pink ones out of a box of Quality Streets to match the theme (the rest are working their way into my tummy)

My prize was a refill pack so they came in a bag rather than the jar but luckily I had bought these little jars in IKEA a long time ago and they are perfect. I punched a scallop circle out of the label that was included and stuck this to the lid so that I know which colour they are.

The Countdown Begins...

...to the first 'I LOVE DIGI CHALLENGE'. The challenges start on Thursday February 18th and then each fortnight afterwards. It may seem quiet there right now but there's a lot going on behinf the scenes and a great sponsor for the first challenge. Make sure you check it all out.

Why no updates?

Haven't had time to make anything lately. Had a couple of days off from college but ended up being offered some supply work and literally left there and went straight up to North Wales to do some climbing. Had a great time doing my first ever trad multi pitches! Had a great time - weather was fantastic and the climbing itself was amazing (and a little scary at times)

Came back late last night and very tired and so went to bed. Went to check some things on my computer and found out I'd won the prize from last week's Anyone for Anya challenge! Woohoo. But then I visited the Elzybells Forum (if you haven't been there yet then please do visit as it's a great place to get Elzybells inspiration) to find out that I'd also won their last challenge too - what a way to end the weekend - absolutely amazing!!!

Special Announcement

I'm on the I LOVE DIGI design team!!!
Woohoo.

The challenges begin on February 18th so make sure you visit the blog for further details. I can't wait to get going. In the mean time why not visit the other Design Team members:

There's also a team of Guest Designers too:

EDIT: This post was originally longer but my internet crashed when I was typing it up and hadn't saved the second half so here's what else I had originally posted:

Well to celebrate this, I went ahead and bought some new digi stamps (well, I'm going to need more now!). I'd been eyeing the Greeting Farm's Chibi range and decided, now that they've also got some male styles, I'd buy a couple. I printed them out and coloured them for no particular reason, just for fun! Does anyone else do this? I have a heap ready coloured now (some even cut out too) ready to be put on projects eventhough I have no idea what for!
